North West Piking Conference

We have the 'North-West Piking 2011' conference at our HQ the Caledonian pub.
Entry is £5 for none Region 31 members & £3 for region members.
Events on the day will include -

- Boat demo
- Angling coaching (Eric)
- Second hand stall
- Tackle stand - Pike-pro
- Prize raffle - top prize a £60 voucher for baitbox bait
- Piking panel - ask the experts (Gary Knowles, Mark Leathwood, Eric Edwards)
- Lure making demo - Mark Berrisford
- Lure clinic - Dave Kelbrick

Region 31 TEACH IN - SUNDAY 11TH SEPT 10:00-14:00

Sunday 11th September, 10:00-14:00

Location: Heapey Lodges (PR6 9BU)

Directions:
Take the B6228 from Chorley. Go over the motorway and canal. Take the right turn into Knowley Brow. It then changes to Heapey Road. Take the right turn, signposted Anglezarke. After 500 yards there is a ar park on the left going up the hill.
Go through the 1st car park and into the 2nd car park facing Heapey No.2.

Agenda:
There will be multiple talks on lure fishing, float fishing, ledger fishing and unhooking/handling pike.

Region 31 Fish-In

This weekend sees the first fish in of the year in North Wales.
Its the annual challenge against the NAC, trophy for biggest Eel caught. Eels & pike count towards 2010/2011 leaderboard trophy. Fish count Saturday & Sunday, but fish as long as you want!
Bivvys permitted, free BBQ sat night.

Saturday 26th June 2010:

PAC Region 31 Angling Evening: An introduction to English, Scottish, Welsh & Irish Pike fishing.

ERIC EDWARDS one of the best pike anglers in the UK will open the show covering the potential of English venues. He will also cover his angling exploits to date in Wales, although Eric by his own admission has not concentrated too much on Welsh piking, this will close the show by leaving us with food for thought as it’s an area of somewhat untapped potential where no doubt Eric will continue to peruse pike in the future

JON NEAFCY R/O region 31 PAC & PAAS member, Angling author & coach will cover an introduction to the Scottish waters, Jon will cover his experiences in the borders/SW & Central & MICKEY JONES of PAC/PAAS & Inverness Pike Club will cover his adventures in the Highlands

PHIL KIRK, former PAC Committee member & a long standing PAC R/O for over 20 years will cover his angling exploits in Ireland

Location: Caledonian Public House (upstairs function room)
Bolton Road Ashton in Makerfield (next door to Tesco Garage) 154 Bolton Rd, Ashton In Makerfield, Wigan, WN4 8PF.

The doors open at 8pm, £5 entry on the door with a free buffet and the usual raffle prizes

The guest speakers on the night have ALL kindly offered raffle prizes of a days FREE guided fishing with them, donated as raffle prizes, this will be as follows:

Mickey Jones - bank/boat weekend Scottish Highlands

Eric Edwards - Boat, large glacial lake.

Raffle tickets will be £1 each on the night

Just a quick note to say thanks for those who helped out. There were 20+ kids in attendance who all enjoyed the event. Southport Anglers were very happy with how things went.

Region 31 Pike Coaching Event

PAC Region 31 and Southport District AA are holding a pike angling coaching event at Six Fields Bridge on the River Crossens on Saturday 12th September 2009.
This is a free event and is aimed at youngsters & newcomers to the sport.
Entry at own risk.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult (parent/guardian) for the duration of the event (10am-2pm).

Region 31 PACGB in conjunction with the NAC, CCG and ZAC are pleased to present:

Catfish - Simon Clarke - CCG and Catfish-Pro, captor of BIG catfish worldwide.
Eels - Damien Wood, on top 50 list of big eel captures
Lures - Gary Knowles, renowned specimen angler.
Zander - Peter Waterfield, NW RO for Zander Anglers Club.
Perch - Damien Wood.

7pm onwards. All are welcome.

£5 entry, including buffet.

Prize raffle on the night.

Summer Predator Evening - 5 Short talks on catfish, eels, zander, perch and lures.

Eel fishing overnighter - Leeds/Liverpool canal Redrock area. Meet Bridge 63 Pub car park. Trophy for biggest eel caught.

Saturday September 12th 5pm-9pm

Lure fishing event. Wigan flashes park at side of canal/ amateur football ground off Poolstock Lane. Several venues to go at including the canal, scotchmans, wadakers, westwood, pearsons etc. Drinks in pub afterwards if anyone is interested. Trophy for biggest haul of pike caught.

September 12th 2009 - 3rd Annual Teach in

This years teach in will take place from 1030-1430 on Saturday 12th September on a Southport Anglers water, possibly the Crossens.
